Fiery Protest on Oudtshoorn’s Mayor’s Doorstep

Protests flared in Oudtshoorn again, fueled by municipal workers who had heard that Oudtshoorn Municipality had allegedly stolen their pension and medical aid contributions. The hated man of the moment is embattled Mayor Gordon April who has led the town from crisis to crisis. Will this finally force uncooperative MEC Alan Bredell to put Oudtshoorn under administration? Will the DA finally be forced to add their vote to the ANC’s in booting Mayor Gordon April and Acting Municipal Manager Ronnie Lottering out of town… or into jail as many hope?

Rough politics, Hardy Mills and poor Oudtshoorn

Politics is rough. In my experience in Eden District, South Africa, it’s rarely for the people it’s supposed to serve. It’s both the ANC and DA against the public (my site is filled with examples). The word ‘politician’ should denote respect but instead, it’s become a swear word amongst the general public. There seems to be corruption everywhere, from Plettenberg Bay, through my beloved Knysna, to Oudtshoorn. I’ve spoken to you about Hardy Mills, the attorney before.
