Express your opinion about the SA covid-19 vaccine rollout

Mike Hampton Posted on 17th Jan 2021 by mikehampton19th Jan 2021

Dear South Africa invites you to provide comment, input, objections or alternate solutions to the government roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine. President Cyril Ramaphosa announced earlier this week the country had secured 20 million vaccine doses to combat the coronavirus, which are to be delivered mainly in the first half of the year. The government aim to inoculate two-thirds of the population by the end of the year.   The vaccination programme announced on Wednesday would target people at shopping malls, taxi ranks, schools, clinics and hospitals.   Last week, … Read the full article…

So long, South Africa, and thanks for all the fish…

Mike Hampton Posted on 23rd Aug 2020 by mikehampton23rd Aug 2020

I gave 10 years to fighting corruption. Unfortunately, no one stood with me in a meaningful way. South Africa is broken. Maybe, in a different way, I am too.  But I don’t regret having represented what I believe in. The best lesson I learned was minimalism. Most material things don’t matter. I would like to own a small fridge but there’s no need for a car or a big TV. I’ve handled 6-months of lockdown well. I’ve spent so much time alone, much longer than that, that I don’t need … Read the full article…

Cape school principal’s emotional and logical appeal to close schools

Mike Hampton Posted on 4th Jul 2020 by mikehampton4th Jul 2020

This letter is essential coronavirus reading whilst over 300 Western Cape schools are closed, several due to community protesting! Envil Wertheim, a Mitchell’s Plain principal, exposes the double standards between poor and rich students. He explains in great detail why poor schools, such as his, are not coronavirus ready. His criticism for the Western Cape Education Department and MEC Debbie Schafer is scathing. “Learners back at schools is not working! My name is Envil Wertheim. I am the principal of Aloe High School, a school in Mitchell’s Plain. We are … Read the full article…

Anti-Lockdown Permit: LFN’s Reyno de Beer loses control on ENCA news

Mike Hampton Posted on 3rd Jul 2020 by mikehampton21st Jan 2021

Last night’s coronavirus news broadcast by eNCA was contentious. News anchor Sally Burdett obviously intended discrediting Reyno de Beer from the Liberty Fighters Network (LFN). He lost control, made a fool of himself and his movement. This discusses what happened, mentions the anti-lockdown permit LFN has issued, and expresses my personal unhappiness with conspiracy theorists and Media that doesn’t get us the facts we need. THE ANTI-CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN PERMIT The LFN recently made itself known when it challenged the coronavirus lockdown in court, and won the first round. The case … Read the full article…

Graph shows South Africa’s coronavirus cases climbing quickly

Covid-19 South Africa update 26 June 2020

Deathly Reminder: It’s says a lot about human nature that what was happening in the USA and Europe a month ago was daily news, but as the coronavirus spreads southwards, it’s almost forgotten. Mexico’s deaths are an alarming 25,060, and they’re adding approximately 900 per day. Our South African dead may ‘only’ be 2,294 but that’s more than a 400% increase the past month. After Brazil was where we are now, it took them one month to reach 17,000 dead, and another month to get to where they are now, … Read the full article…
