Corruption in the Office of the Public Protector

Public Protector corruption Busisiwe Mkhwebane Oupoa Segalwe protecting Democratic Alliance corruption

The Office of the Public Protector (OPP) has been protecting the corruption of the Democratic Alliance. This is one of the four most important publications I’ve made in nine years of activism. The others are my affidavit to the Hawks, my submission to NCOP and my book, ‘Same Shit Different Government’. It’s my firm belief that Senior Investigator Gideon Landman, George Branch Manager of the OPP, should be in jail. His boss, Western Cape Manager Sune Griessels, and his ex-colleague Bruce Wessels, deserve investigation too. So does Ruthven Janse van … Read the full article…

Thuli Madonsela Interviewed by Ryland Fisher

Mike Hampton Posted on 22nd Jan 2017 by Mike Hampton1st Nov 2020

“Former public protector Thuli Madonsela says she loves the ANC, but she loves South Africa more. In an interview with Ryland Fisher, she spoke frankly about her relationship with President Jacob Zuma, rogue elements within the ruling party, her reasons for letting her ANC membership lapse, and her hopes for South Africa’s future. Read the interview summary at ‘SA‘s Not Sinking, It’s Redefining Itself, Says Thuli’ or watch the full, insightful interview by clicking the link to the video below (audio tinny and needs to be turned up).

Thuli Madonsela: “Standing Up Against Injustice”

Mike Hampton Posted on 25th Sep 2016 by Mike Hampton1st Nov 2020

On Wednesday, Grahamstown’s Kingswood College had the distinct honour and privilege to have Advocate Thuli Madonsela as the guest speaker for this year’s Neil Aggett Memorial Lecture. Her speech was entitled: “Standing up against injustice”. It was an auspicious occasion which was well-attended by pupils and the general public. Madonsela’s speech touched on various issues that we face as a country today, and she was humbled by the fact that Aggett was one of the people who had inspired her to get involved in the struggle. In some way, Aggett … Read the full article…

Mayor Eleanore Bouw Spies, Where's Mike Hampton?

Mike Hampton Posted on 16th Aug 2016 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Eleanore Bouw-Spies, the new Executive Mayor for Knysna, goes to Hornlee Primary School to talk to the kids about what politicians do. After her talk she asks for questions. One boy puts up his hand up. Hillary asks him what his name is. “Mike Hampton,” he says. “And what is your question, Mike?” she asks. “I have three,” he says. “Go ahead, Mike.” “First, whatever happened at Knysna Tourism?” asked Mike. “Secondly, how can you be Mayor when you, as Speaker, previously failed to investigate complaints against your fellow councillors? … Read the full article…

The Democratic Alliance & the Public Protector

Mike Hampton Posted on 1st Jul 2016 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

I’ve yet to receive anything from Parliament. Parliament hasn’t responded to my supplementary evidence or messages for a while. I don’t believe that the PP is the best course but would, of course, accept that route, if true. However, after 5 years of letdowns, i don’t trust anything until it’s made black and white It has been reported in two newspapers that Parliament has asked the Public Protector to investigate my allegations of corruption involving the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the Knysna Municipality. I believe in truth so rather than … Read the full article…

Parliament asks Public Protector to Probe Democratic Alliance

Mike Hampton Posted on 23rd Jun 2016 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

A Committee of Parliament has responded to my allegations of Democratic Alliance (DA) corruption and maladministration by asking the Public Protector to investigate. The allegations implicate many. From the town of Knysna to Cape Town, it involves municipal officials and politicians, managers and ministers. Ultimately, and especially because she was aware and never acted, responsibility must rest on the doorstep of Premier Helen Zille. MEDIA BIAS I’m Mike Hampton, an independent activist. This is a about power and cover-up. It should have, long ago, been one of the biggest stories … Read the full article…

Should Jacob Zuma Obey Thuli Madonsela’s Recommendations

Mike Hampton Posted on 30th Mar 2016 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

What will happen tomorrow? Do you believe that President Jacob Zuma should be brought to the heel of Public Protector Thuli Madonsela. Or do you respect his right to perks and interpretations as President? Tomorrow, March 31 2016, the Constitutional Court will decide whether or not to accept the DA and EFF’s case that contends that: – Zuma’s failed to respond appropriately to the Public Protector’s findings and recommendations that he repay the money spent on non-security upgrades like the swimming pool and cattle kraal. The Court doesn’t pass individual … Read the full article…
