As follow-up to the ‘Plot Against Knysna?’, and previously unanswered questions, I emailed several of the powerful people backslapping themselves during the crisis they’ve helped create.
Specifically, that’s Deputy Mayor Aubrey Tsengwa, Municipal Manager Michele Gratz, DA Councillor Peter Myers and DA National Federal Finance Chairperson Dion George. I ccied Knysna Communications Manager Christopher Bezuidenhoudt whose best skills are not answering and ensuring that every administration hires him, even if they have to change his role.
“It’s suspicious that the DA, ANC and municipal officials are holding hands in the crisis they’re responsible for. You’re like Trump’s riot cops holding a line of shields and batons against seated protesters. Although I see the tear gas canisters in your hands, I have to try get answers for Knysna.
Is it true that after Gratz, Memani and Myers resigned, all continued work as if they’re not leaving? Will Knysna Municipality provide their resignation letters, or will that be kept secret under the usual excuse of “its personal”.
Why is the DA and ANC protecting Gratz if she never suspended CFO Memani despite claiming that the Municipality was in a financial mess he would’ve been most responsible for?
Will Memani be debated in secret or in Public meetings by Council? Why wasn’t he originally investigated as part of investigation into ex-MM Sitembele Vatala? Why was he protected by Gratz and the Knysna Council?
Is their truth to the rumour that money has been funneled from Knysna Municipality to the Regional ANC, similar to what happened with Oudtshoorn once upon a time? Is that why the ANC, or, rather, one faction of the ANC (for they’re split in two), is supportive of the current status quo?
Is this engineered crisis a real attempt at administration by Province or is it only a DA bargaining chip so as to get control without it? I ask because it’s uncharacteristic that traditionally self-serving, Public-hating, DA councillors are a united team in wanting to lose their salaries. And DA FedEx Finance Chair Dion George has done a sudden about turn, supporting their call which suggests that someone bigger than him told him to (our Constituency representatives have a habit of representing Cape Town, not us).
What of Gratz’s lies about being threatened by the Knysna Ratepayers’ Association regarding the Knysna Planning Tribunal? Will she apologise? And, if this isn’t about an unholy alliance between politicians and property developers (and sorely needed election funds), will the Municipality, ANC and DA hold her to account? Or is she your hero because she works for you and not for us?
Will Knysna Municipality and Deputy Mayor Aubrey Tsengwa speak to the Public, separately, so that we have a political and municipal official perspective? None of this buddy-buddy propaganda we’ve been witnessing. When they do, will it be without wish-washyness, instead with hardcore facts that deliver understanding instead of more questions? Will they explain how Gratz’s conflict of interest is acceptable, how she could call for Administration whilst being a candidate for Administrator?
Will you ever investigate the evidence I’ve given you for years?
Please respond. I’d much rather have dialogue, information and honesty, than only my questions posted on my blog.
