Victor Molosi, Are You a Good Man, A Leader?
Dear Victor Molosi, Knysna Mayoral Candidate for the African National Congress (ANC). I’m hoping that you are a true leader, a reasonable man and a pursuer of justice.
I have many issues that I would like to speak to you about. Unfortunately, I’ve been told that the ANC Provincial Executive Committee has to give you permission to speak to me. I find that very disturbing because that could mean you are not a leader for Knysna but a spokesperson for Cape Town and the politics that continually hurts us and other towns in Eden District.
I’m hoping that those who speak for you have falsely represented you.
THE ANC VERSUS THE PUBLIC
I’m hoping that you are not working for the ANC faction that we’ve witnessed the past 5 years because they seem to have been their own private party. They were ANC only in name… in action, they seem to have betrayed our town. The Regional Executive Committee, from which you come, did not seem to care what happened to us. Please tell me that isn’t true.
The current Knysna ANC leadership seems to support racism, the misuse of public funds and questionable municipal officials. They seem to be against employment equality in high positions. They seem to have worked with some in the DA to damage us. They seem to have personally benefited from questionable relationships.
I’m hoping that you are a true leader, strong enough to speak for yourself and proud to represent our town no matter if you win or lose the elections.
VICTOR MOLOSI, ARE YOU A LEADER?
Victor Molosi, are you a leader? Are you a good man? Do you believe that you are a public servant who serves us?
I ask that you please meet me so that we can discuss the evils that besiege all of us; black, coloured and white; supporters of every party and those who have lost faith to vote; kindred citizens of this beautiful but troubled place.
Victor Molosi, will you meet me? Even tomorrow would be good… and never soon enough.
Thanks,
Mike Hampton (activist, DA critic and fierce lover of our town)
