Statement supplied by a Cape Party activist.
The CAPE PARTY is a party of private sector professionals who seek to ensure that the Cape is run with requisite levels of talent, integrity and accountability.
A citizen’s party which does not enjoy secret foreign benevolence, rather being funded directly from members pockets, making us committed to promoting Direct Democracy, enabling eradication of political fraud and corruption.
We are citizens wanting to protect our future and we want to do it with other normal citizens out there who are tired of the current political situation.
Politicians cannot solve our problems; they are the cause of them.
The CAPE PARTY does not have spurious links to other political parties simply because we seek to CHANGE THE SYSTEM and not play the political game. We are the ONLY political party that actually seeks to devolve power to the citizens and not pursue political power for personal political gain. We are effectively an anti-politics political party. The only reason CAPE PARTY registered as a political party is that it understood that it could not effect change unless we registered to appear on the ballot papers so citizens could vote for this change. Only then, could we effectively climb into the ring and fight back.
On 8 May, the CAPE PARTY is looking to garner 15% citizen support at PROVINCIAL level, making it possible, as per our Constitution, to call for a referendum to attain independence where after serious work can begin in changing our system to expel politics from basic municipal levels, where the service delivery has been monopolized by politicians, leaving ordinary people, in their millions, upset.
Corruption will be given zero-tolerance. Every sphere pertaining to every day life for an ordinary citizens, will be upgraded to lighten the severe pressure citizens find themselves under. We have to start creating a precedence where people want to help themselves create a better life. To see HOW this will be possible, just go and look at Singapore (with their free market system) and Switzerland. If THEY could do it, why not the Western Cape? As an INDEPENDENT state of South Africa. Surely, we could at least TRY?
Vote CAPE PARTY to set this in motion. Be part of the 15%. Be the change…. for our children.
